What kind of paint should I use for laundry/mechanical room?

Our mechanical room houses washer, dryer, hot water tank and HVAC/furnace. The paint seems like the latex paint thats in the rest of the house, but the room needs a fresh coat.
I have some Glidden semi-gloss paint left over from painting the bathroom. Can I use this or is there some special fire/heat resistant paint that I should be using? Can I use vinyl flooring? Thanks a lot.

For bathrooms and other high moisture areas but unless there is problem they arent necessary use good quality brushes and you will work its washable dust doesnt stick to it as flat or eggshell finishes there are mildew resistant paints for bathrooms and the job will get.
