Interior Design.How do you prepare?

If I want to go to a *really* good university to study interior design, what courses do I have to take now? What do I have to have in my portfolio? What are qualified credits for studies in sketching, painting, art history, etc?
I can NOT take courses at school. I’m an IB student. My schedule is FULL.
